MyMeasure app for iPhone and iPad
Measure length, perimeter and area on a map.
Using an interactive cross hair you can trace the outline of any feature visible on the map, creating a series of connected points the area and perimeter are continuously updated. The cross-hair includes a radius indicator that can be scaled dynamically to quickly size features on the map whilst tracing.
Works with anything you can display on the map from the size of a continent, down to something as small as a car. Extremely complex shapes can be handled with virtually no limit.
Comes with sample reference tracks to give you confidence in the accuracy and power of this app (for example race tracks and sports arenas whose dimensions can be found on the web). Samples provided include Indianapolis Race Track, The Nurburgring, Old Trafford Football Pitch and the outline of France.
Measurements can be saved locally as tracks and then can be opened and viewed within the app or can be emailed in KML or Microsoft Excel format. The email message also includes a summary of the dimensions and a picture of the track.
Can be switched between Metric and Imperial units (hectares, sq.km. sq.m, acres, sq.miles, sq.yrds, sq.ft) at any time, and can be switched from measuring areas to simple lengths.
You can zoom to your current location, search for an address, or manually pan/zoom to any place in the world.
A useful tool for anyone who needs to calculate these dimensions quickly and on the move, also fun for anyone just interested in how big things are.

I like this i have been looking for such app. I suggest you allow more than one draw per file and write label close to each sketch. Very nice thanks
Length measurement is useful for estimating the path length between location. Unfortunately, the map scale is hard to read when the background map is almost white or light grey. It would be great if the color of text and symbols can be changed manually.
Use it all the time! Im an architect doing development. Checking sites with this and fooled street view saves airfares and tons of time. Best value ever on my iPad.

Need to fix the measurements they have been off for about a year
This is a great app for anything you can pick up on google Earth! Mapped out my new property down to the step. Worth every penny- will take a minute to learn but no problems!
Some bad moments
Good ability to measure distance and area.
Map centers OK, but annoying that pins drop in top left corner where cross hairs are (iPad1 with updated iOS).
GPS coordinates way off. Try todays earthquake at 17.431°N, 93.978°W , it points just outside of Veracruz, instead of near Las Choapas, hundreds of miles away.
If you fix these, then four stars.
To get five stars, you have to be able to combine on road routes with off-road portions!
The app will work great . As it did on iOS 4.
Now the issue with ios5 is that when you open a saved map it crashes the app.
I really love this app and rated it a 5 until this. Please fix.
This app does not perform well on iOS 6 -- I should have noted the last update in 2011. There are definitely much better apps than this clunky limited zoom concoction. I got hoodwinked on this one -- dont waste your money!!
I wrote the developer on 3 occasions and not one of them has been delivered. They have a bogus email address to send support inquiries to. Its been more than a week and so far it keeps attempting to deliver but cant. When I try to search an address, all I get when I hit Search is an error that says, "Bad Key." Its absolutely worthless unless the developer can get me complaint and fix the problem. Dont waste any of your money on this thing. No service so it has no value.
I was using this app for business purposes for several months, and it suited all my needs.
However, last week, I began receiving an error whenever I searched for an address.
The error says "Search error: bad key"
This is apparently an API access issue, but the one star review is due to the combination of this error and the customer support email bouncing as undeliverable.
An update to the developer contact information and resolution of the search error will warrant a five-star review from me.
